The Role of the Girl Scout Council ► It is the role of the Girl Scout council to maintain a reasonably safe and secure environment in which Girl Scout program can be delivered.

The Girl Scouts of Mitten Bay staff follow the safety guidelines contained in Safety-Wise. Staff are responsible for monitoring volunteers use of Safety-Wise to ensure that the guidelines are followed appropriately for the local needs, state laws, local ordinances, geography and climate.

The Girl Scouts of Mitten Bay staff does this by providing support and guidance for the use of Safety-Wise to Girl Scout leaders and advisors. The council staff and administrative volunteers help provide training, select and approve sites, and and interpret Safety-Wise guidelines.
