Basic Orientation to Girl Scouts is for all new leaders (advisors) and co-leaders who will be leading a Girl Scout troop for Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, or Senior Girl Scouts and Studio 2B.
Basic Orientation (formerly Basic Leader Training) is 3.5 hours in length and provides a complete overview of Girl Scouting from its beginnings in 1912 to the contemporary program of today's Girl Scout Movement.
New adults are introduced to the traditions of the Girl Scout culture and learn how to integrate the needs and interests of today's girls into the Girl Scout group program.
Specifics include the four program goals of Girl Scouts, Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of Mitten Bay mission statements, Safety-Wise, and the importance of valuing the diversity of today's society.
